2nd Kailash Sankhala Memorial Lecture
At Rotary Sadan Auditorium, Kolkata on September 25, 2019

THE JUNGLEES organised the second Kailash Sankhala Memorial Lecture at Rotary Sadan auditorium, Kolkata on September 25, 2019. The speaker was Dr. Raghunandan Singh Chundawat, the famous Conservation Biologist and author from Panna Tiger Reserve, Madhya Pradesh. The Telegraph carried out a comprehensive story highlighting the key issues in his address. Mr. Raja Chatterjee, Secretary addressed the gathering while senior member Mr. Samar Jha offered the vote of thanks.

Late Dr. Kailash Sankhala, I.F.S. was the Founder Director of the PROJECT TIGER programme started in India in 1972. Kailash ji was also a Life Member of THE JUNGLEES. In paying tribute to this Legendary Conservationist, we conceived of launching a platform of meaningful Dialogue under the auspices of Kailash Sankhala Memorial Lecture. The aim was to bring forth the best of minds, conservation practice and directions to work before the society at large. Accordingly the Inaugural Lecture was organised by THE JUNGLEES on October 7, 2015 at Gallery Gold hall at Kolkata. The presenter was Mr. Jayanta Basu, noted Environment Journalist from The Telegraph, ABP Group.

Dear Friend,

You will be happy to know that as the sun rises on the morning of January 11, 2011, We, THE JUNGLEES will be moving ahead of a mile-stone of Twenty Five Years in our long crusade for conservation of wildlife.

On this Silver Jubilee Foundation Day of THE JUNGLEES, we fondly recollect all our accomplishments in retrospect and renew resolutions to contribute our mite towards ensuring that beautiful life forms around us do not get relegated to the history book. In this grand opportunity, we contrive to assess our problems and prospects vis-a -vis implementation of ongoing and future projects, exercising our collective wisdom.

To commemorate this auspicious day and to celebrate our togetherness for the cause, We organise our traditional Foundation Day Dinner Meet in the evening of January 11, Tuesday from 6 p.m. onwards at Calcutta Rowing Club (First Story Hall)

Our meeting will be followed by a sharing of jungle experience by the eminent Elephant expert Mr. Kishore Chowdhury and a short Film Show - Tiger Next Door.
